Modern Industry

Industry plays a pivotal role in Qufu’s development strategy. With 152 industrial enterprises above designated size, 15 IT enterprises above designated size, 27 national high-tech enterprises and 4 research centers sponsored by academicians from Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering, Qufu has established a solid industrial base. It also enjoys fruitful cooperation with Continental AG, Total S.A., Illinois Tool Works, Lenovo, Shenhua Group and other Fortune Global 500 companies. Among companies based in Qufu, Sacred Sun and Temb won national prizes in the field of electronics for their innovation and performance; Donghong and Sacred Sun became well-known brands in China and currently top their respective industries in Shandong. There are 6 key industries: electronics, auto parts, biomedicine, machinery manufacturing, new building materials and food processing.

Electronics

Qufu has 15 electronics enterprises companies above designated size and has gradually formed a business cluster including Lubo, Sacred Sun, Jingdao, Luqiang, Yuqiaofu, Kangmu, etc., which will be further enhanced toward smart hardware, auto electronics and electronic components.

Jingdao Microelectronics is devoted to the R&D, manufacturing and marketing of discrete semiconductor devices, able to make full range of surface mount diodes through utilizing advanced production lines for GPP chips and SMD packages. Sinodod, covering an area of 20 ha, can put out an annual production of 10 million smart kitchen appliances and accessories for Joyoung.

Promising fields of cooperation include new electronic components, photoelectric communication, applied electronics for energy and medicine, new software, cloud service and integrated circuits.

Auto Parts

In this field, Qufu has 11 enterprises above designated size, including Temb, Illinois Tool Works, Jinhuang, Dongzheng, Tianke, etc. Temb is the largest manufacturer of auto temperature sensor in China and maintains successful cooperation with Continenal AG.

In order to further develop the industrial base, efforts will be made to attract large auto parts manufacturers from home and abroad to start cooperation with local major companies in projects on R&D and production of cars and key parts such as auto electronics, engines and transmissions, especially those related to new energy vehicles.

Biomedicine

Based on 16 medical enterprises above designated size in Qufu, an industrial chain has been formed, which prioritizes medicine manufacturers like Kongfu and Shengwang and involves pharmaceutical adjuvant producers like Tianli, biochip maker Yulong and pharmaceutical intermediate producers. Moreover, large pharmaceutical enterprises like Lukang and Cisen can also be found less than 50 km away from Qufu.

With one National Engineering Laboratory researching immunoassay reagents and Qufu Chinese Medicine School, Qufu gains considerable R&D capability and can make full use of its rich supply of medical herbs thanks to its temperate climate.

Yulong mainly research, develop, produce and market diagnostic biochips and relative equipment, supported by its advanced facilities, a 2,000 m² research center and a large GMP production base.

Qufu aims to build a local cluster of medical enterprises by accelerating the development of biochips for immunoassay, bulk drug substances, pharmaceutical intermediates, compound medicine, extracted Chinese medicine, patent Chinese medicine, biomedical equipment, high-end medical instruments, etc.

Machinery Manufacturing

Qufu has a solid base of 24 enterprises above designated size including Jihua, Jinsheng, Jikai, Chongde and Ruihong to engage in machinery processing of machine elements for construction equipment, motors, switches, CNC cutting tools, bridge formwork, etc.

Qufu encourages local enterprises to improve professionalism, expand business scope and seek cooperation with renowned machinery manufacturers home and abroad so as to forge a business cluster focused on the development of high-quality CNC machine tools, advanced agricultural machinery, modern logistics equipment, smart grid, energy-saving and eco-friendly equipment, general aviation, etc.

New Building Materials

There are 23 enterprises above designated size in Qufu, forming a business cluster represented by Donghong, China United Cement Corporation, Wode Hubiao, Tianyin, Pvente and GKD.

Qufu plans to improve the local business cluster by encouraging the enterprises to step into the production of specialized steel, tempered glass, high-end extrudates, composite panels and cutting-edge wall materials at a faster pace, and to put greater energy into the development of waterproof and thermal insulation materials for building decoration and prefabricated building materials.

Food Processing

There are 8 enterprises above designated size, among which Confucius Family Liquor, Yanjing, Kongfu, Wanchenggong, Wenchunli and Hengda are of note. The strategy is to put emphasis on beverage and snack food production by introducing and fostering several famous brands so as to establish a food industrial park led by Confucius Family Liquor and supported by Kongfu and Wanchenggong that integrates manufacturing, processing and trade with tourism.

Culture and Tourism

The focus is on constructing the traditional culture demonstration zone, along with protecting the Ming-era city, revitalizing the area surrounding ancient Panchi Pond, developing Lu Ban Cultural Project, opening a theme park, improving Cittaslow, building a local culture demonstration zone, and promoting educational and medical tourism as well as cultural and tourism products.

City Construction

The city’s development plan is based on its geographical layout, and gives priority to High-Speed Railway District, the commercial zone along Liao River, commercial complexes in urban area, infrastructure in towns and architectures in ancient Chinese style. So far Qufu has already attracted investment from China’s major real estate companies like Greentown, Evergrande, Country Garden, etc.

Agriculture

The focus is on the development of agritourism, agricultural facilities, deep processing of agricultural products as well as the further construction of a province-level demonstration area for modern high-tech agriculture.
